CHROME// DREAMS

A digital hallucination built in code and static. Chrome Dream bends structure until it breaks: typography drifts, images stutter, and logic loops into poetry. It's a website that feels unstable on purpose, a lucid glitch between function and fever. Raw, fragile, alive.

CHROME//DREAMS - a studio site that deleted itself after twenty-four hours

PROJECT/OVERVIEW

CHROME//DREAMS was a design studio site that self-destructed after 24 hours. We launched it. It went viral. Then it disappeared forever. The entire campaign was about impermanence in digital space. No archive. No screenshots allowed (they glitched). Just memory and legend.

CHALLENGE

To design a website that malfunctions beautifully. The goal wasn't clarity. It was chaos with control. We had to build a system that looked unstable but never broke, a digital dream that constantly threatened to fall apart while staying perfectly functional. Every glitch had purpose. Every error was designed.

SOLUTION

DISCOVERY & ANALYSIS

RESEARCH/PHASE

Studied ephemeral art, Snapchat psychology, FOMO marketing. Interviewed people about memorable digital experiences. Found that temporary content creates stronger memories. Built legal framework for data deletion.

CONCEPT & ITERATION

DESIGN/PHASE

Designed everything to feel precious. Every interaction special. Visual language of decay and time. Countdown integrated into all elements. Made it beautiful knowing it would die.

DEVELOPMENT & TECH

BUILD/PHASE

Gatsby for fast loading. Built self-destruct mechanism. Canvas-based screenshot protection. Server-side deletion at deadline. GSAP for time-based animations. Monitoring to ensure clean deletion.
